It is Christmas Eve.
The morning is cold and bright, the world is whirling, winding up for the event of Christmas Day. The media is a constant cascade of pitches for last minute shopping and preparations, mingled with warm stories of giving and well wishes.
I sit alone in this still house with the company of two dogs, laying in a furry mass strategically positioned to be close but not touching. The fire is warming, the candle is waxing with fragrance. This year Christmas is not to be at this home of the empty nesters. As my heart begins to feel the empty, a fresh realization dawns bright in my heart, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
The quietness presents the opportunity for me to reflect with pause to ponder the truth of my Lord’s pursuing love. IT IS Christmas Eve. What a treat not to have to be whirling!
Father, your wisdom and love is far beyond what my human awareness can understand. Give me a wisdom and an awareness to know your presences. A persistent presence that I can not escape. I am a humbled human who struggles to fully grasp that you are not only with me but you are within me. The constancy of your divine presence and love gives me strength beyond measure. My heart is open to trust this truth. When I waver with doubt, please renew my faithful trust, through the grace and power of your Holy Love. Father, thank you for the Grace of Your Love through the Gift of Your Son and the Power of Your Holy Spirit that now indwells my soul. I praise You that You are eternally present with me, I AM NEVER ALONE. In the name of Jesus AMEN.
Your knowledge is beyond my comprehension; it is so far beyond me, I am unable to fathom it. Where can I go to escape your spirit? Where can I flee to escape your presence?“ Psalms 139:6-7 (NET)
Look! The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will name him Emmanuel,” which means “God with us.” Matthew 1:23 (NET)
He has said, “I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.” Hebrews 13:5b (NET)
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
I pray that according to the wealth of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love, you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:16-19 (NET)
MAY THE PEACE OF GOD REIGN IN YOUR HEARTS.
